Hello! My name is Liam West, and I'm a Life Scout in Troop 227 in Mobile, Alabama. I'm currently a senior in the IB program at Davidson High School and will be pursuing a degree in chemical engineering next year.
I'm working toward earning my Eagle Scout rank by completing a community service project that's very meaningful to me. Growing up at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church (DWUMC), my family and I often rode our bikes to attend church and scout meetings. Recognizing the need for secure and convenient bicycle storage, I've chosen to install a durable, stainless steel, 9-bike loop rack at the end of the church's covered walkway.
In addition to the bike rack installation, I'll be leading scouts from my troop, along with adult volunteers, in spreading new wood chips throughout the DWUMC playgrounds, making it safer for the children to play there.
I'm raising funds with a goal of $1,500, which will cover the cost of the bike rack, necessary installation hardware, supplies such as gloves for our volunteers, and refreshments like water and snacks to support everyone during our project workdays. Any excess funds raised will be donated directly back to DWUMC to help offset their costs for the pine straw.
I deeply appreciate your support as I complete this important step toward becoming an Eagle Scout and giving back to the community that's given so much to me. Thank you!
