My son, Levi Brown, had his 2005 Ford F350 stolen from the fairgrounds in Vallejo while they were there to show his son's goats and rabbit projects. The thieves had the truck for 3 or 4 days before it was recovered. They stripped everything out of the bed: a 5th wheel trailer hitch, a winch, tools, and the metal cage they transport the goats in. They tore up the bed of the truck and removed the custom rack that Levi built. They punched out the locks on the doors and tore up the inside of the truck. Levi thinks it was used in an illegal sideshow. The front bumper is damaged, as is the tailgate; rear lights were busted, and the panel behind the rear tires is caved in. Levi has invested thousands of dollars into the engine, tires, and rims, and the usual things to upkeep a truck that is 20 years old. It only had 140,000 miles on it. It looks like they overheated the engine. It has fluids all over under the hood. They broke the sliding window in the back window.
It just makes me heartsick that this would happen to Levi and his family. Anyone that knows him knows Levi helps everyone that asks him for help. His neighbors, the 4H club that he and Elizabeth are leaders in, me, and family members know we can depend on him helping if we need him.
I know this won't make him whole again, but if it helps to relieve some of the financial stress he is going to be under trying to replace his truck, that's all I can ask for. Thank you all.
