We are Leslie Rovero's daughters and grandchildren (affectionately known as "Nanny" to many), and it is with heavy hearts that we reach out for your help.
For those who know her, Leslie has always been the first to lend a hand to anyone in need, and now it's our turn to return some of that kindness during this difficult time.
At 73, she has opened her heart and home to countless individuals, always going the extra mile. Unfortunately, recent events have turned her life upside down. After welcoming a woman who claimed to be an evacuee from the Pasadena fires and was looking for a place to rent, Leslie now faces significant challenges. This individual has not paid rent for three months and is counter-suing us, alleging harassment and threats, when in fact, she is the one causing distress. We have ample proof and witnesses to support our claims, but unfortunately, this is a tactic often used to prolong her stay.
We have discovered that this woman has a history of evictions and appears to exploit vulnerable homeowners. She has now moved into our Nanny’s home, draining her financially and emotionally. The legal expenses, filing fees, and loss of rental income are taking a toll on our family.
California laws often favor tenants, even in cases like this, and this individual is taking advantage of the system to avoid eviction.
We urgently need legal assistance to resolve this situation and are aiming to raise funds to cover the associated expenses. As a family, we humbly ask for your support, whether through donations or by sharing this campaign. Your help would mean the world to us.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
With love,
Jennifer, Arta, Jamie, Kenji, Deschen, Noa, Kaden, and Ella
