Help Leslie & Matthew Through This Crisis

Dear friends and family,

Leslie and Matthew have always been the ones to take care of others, but now they need our help. As many of you know, Leslie has dedicated her life to being a full-time caregiver. She devotes herself entirely to caring for both Matthew—who is fighting end-stage renal failure—and his elderly father, all while working tirelessly to keep their household afloat, and working a full time job as well.

Through every challenge—including Matthew’s sudden collapse at work that led to his diagnosis, his inability to work since, and the endless medical battles—Leslie has carried the weight of their family with grace and strength. She works long hours, cooks home-cooked meals after exhausting days, and has sacrificed everything to make sure her loved ones are cared for.

Recently, their world was shaken again. A MRSA infection in Matthew’s dialysis port spread to his heart, nearly costing him his life. While he fought to come home, he now faces another emergency hospitalization, leaving their future uncertain. Leslie has used all her sick and vacation time, and with unpaid leave, their financial burden has become overwhelming.

They are new homeowners, and Leslie is terrified of falling behind on their mortgage after working so hard to provide a safe home for their family. She has never asked for help before, but now, we are asking for her. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference in easing their burden and allowing Leslie to focus on what matters most—being by Matthew’s side and continuing to care for his elderly father.
