Hello everyone, my name is Leshia Samuels and I’m originally from the beautiful community of Savanna-La-Mar in Westmoreland, Jamaica. I now live in Florida but my heart remains with my family, friends and neighbors back home especially now after the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa.

This hurricane has left many families in Savanna-La-Mar Westmoreland struggling to start over. Homes were damaged or destroyed, belongings washed away and families are doing their best to rebuild from almost nothing.

From Florida, I’ve been gathering supplies and essentials to send back home including food items, clothing, toiletries and basic household needs. I plan to ship a crate directly to Savanna-La-Mar to help families who have lost everything get some immediate relief.

But the needs go far beyond what one crate can hold. That’s why I started this GoFundMe to raise $10,000 to continue supporting my community through this recovery process.
