Support Les and Brian after wrongful conviction

Donation protected
On June 1, 2023, Celester McKinney and Brian Betts walked free on parole after serving 25 years in prison for a crime they did not commit. Free, but not yet exonerated, the cousins are rebuilding their lives as attorneys from the Midwest Innocence Project, and the law firms of Morgan Pilate and Law & Schreiner continue to fight to overturn their unjust convictions in the courts. You can help them on this journey. 100% of all funds raised will go to Les and Brian to support them with everyday vital expenses like rent, food, utilities, clothes, transportation, etc. Any amount helps!

Like Lamonte McIntyre and others in Wyandotte County, Brian and Les were convicted because of the misconduct of former police Detective Roger Golubski. Similar to McIntyre's case, the state's key witness at Les and Brian's trials has now recanted his testimony, stating he forced by officers, including Golubski, to give false testimony against the young men. Golubski was indicted on federal charges in the Fall of 2023.

After 25 years, Brian and Les were reunited into the arms of their loving family. We are grateful they are home on parole, but know the journey to truth, justice, reconciliation and repair is long. Please join us in welcoming Les and Brian home by helping them get back on their feet.
