Support Lele Aloha: Rebuilding Lahaina with Love and Legacy

At Outcove Lāna‘i 2025, we had the honor of welcoming Archie Kalepa and Max Yaramawai — two incredible leaders from Maui whose stories of resilience, service, and aloha moved every single one of us.

Now, we’re coming together as the Outcove ʻohana to give back — to support Archie and Alicia Kalepa’s foundation, Lele Aloha, and their ongoing efforts to rebuild Lāhaina from the ground up.

What is Lele Aloha?

Lele Aloha is an operating 501(c)(3) foundation in the State of Hawai‘i, created to support a thriving Hawai‘i through community regeneration.

Their mission is to honor Hawai‘i’s rich genealogy — protecting land, ocean, and water resources, and building healthy communities rooted in love of ʻāina (land), ʻohana (family), and aloha (love).

Lele Aloha began in the aftermath of the 2023 Lāhaina fires, one of the deadliest wildfires in U.S. history. Out of immense loss, Archie and Alicia Kalepa turned heartbreak into action — rallying the community to restore not only homes and land, but the spirit of Maui itself.

Who Are Archie & Alicia Kalepa?

Archie’s lineage traces back ten generations to Maui’s first konohiki, Pūholopū — a traditional steward of the land.

For generations, the Kalepa ʻohana has embodied mālama ʻāina (care for the land) and kuleana (responsibility).

Archie is known across Hawai‘i as a legendary waterman, cultural guardian, and lifelong servant leader.

Alongside his wife Alicia, they created Lele Aloha to carry forward the values of aloha, stewardship, and regeneration.

Together, they are helping to rebuild Lāhaina — not just its structures, but its heart.

Remembering Lāhaina

In August 2023, powerful Kauaʻula winds swept flames through Maui, engulfing the historic town of Lāhaina within hours.

Lives were lost. Homes were destroyed. Centuries of cultural heritage were reduced to ashes.

And yet

— as Hawaiians say:

“Ka ipu kukui ʻa ʻāmau pio ʻole i ka makani”

The ever-bright torches cannot be extinguished, even by the winds of Kauaʻula.

The light of Lāhaina still burns bright — through the spirit, leadership, and work of people like Archie and Alicia.
