Support Leila's Family in Crisis

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of one of my students, Leila—a bright, resilient, and incredibly talented young dancer. She’s an American citizen, an honor student, and a beloved part of our community. But today, she and her family are facing a devastating crisis.

Just days ago, without any warning, Leila’s mother, Marta, was seized by ICE and is preparing to be deported to Poland. Marta has lived in the United States for almost 25 years. She is not only a devoted mother of three but also an executive chef, a domestic violence counselor, and a passionate animal advocate. She and her husband have built their life here—raising their children, owning property, and giving back to their community.

Now, that life has been ripped apart.

Marta’s sudden deportation has left her husband—who is also not a U.S. citizen—in a terrifying state of uncertainty. And Leila, along with her older and younger siblings, is now navigating the unimaginable: a home turned upside down, a family separated, and a future filled with unknowns.

This family is facing urgent emotional and financial hardship. They need support to meet basic needs, explore legal avenues, and possibly prepare for international relocation if the rest of the family is forced to leave the country.
