Help a Friend Find Safety and Stability

We’re raising funds for a friend and former colleague who came to the U.S. to pursue a graduate degree after fleeing an unsafe situation in Myanmar. Her hometown has been devastated by ongoing conflict, forcing her family into displacement and making it impossible for her to return.

Determined to build a better future, she earned her degree and secured a role on a USAID-funded human rights project supporting her country. However, due to recent federal funding cuts, she lost her job and now faces an uncertain future.

Her temporary visa is running out, and while she is working at a coffee shop to support herself, it is not a sustainable solution. She urgently needs to apply for asylum to remain safe—but the legal fees total $5,000.
