My name is Dara Silberstein and I am a research associate professor at Binghamton University. For those who are not familiar with me, I am an attorney and I have a PhD in labor history from Cornell. This December I am taking 2 students to Dilley, Texas so that we can help address the needs of detainees who are being detained because of Trump's grossly racist immigration policies. My time there will be on a strictly volunteer basis; the fees associated with the trip, including the travel costs for myself as well as the students (who will be translating), will be paid for out of pocket.
