Milwaukee Rescue Mission is attempting to build a 57,000 square foot, 120-bed male rehab facility at 5295 S Moorland Road, New Berlin, WI. The lot is zoned M-1 (light industrial). The project is categorized as a church to help bypass the approval process. The City of New Berlin has approved this, stating it cannot be denied because of the religious institution.
We are raising money for attorney fees to challenge the decision based on the current zoning and the false categorization of this project. It will house people for 6 months at a time while going through treatment with religious activities included.
Any and all funds that are raised above attorney and legal/operating fees will be donated to the Education Foundation of New Berlin.
