Hi everyone, My name is Colette. I am starting a go fund me for my almost Sister-in-law Leanna Lea Bumps, her two beautiful daughters (Ashley and Sophia) and her precious lil granddaughter (Kendall). Leanna and the girls have been with My Brother Steve for almost seven years. Kendall joined the family three years ago and brought so much love and joy into the household and into my brother Steve’s heart… Steve became “GRUMPA!” Not too long after Kendall was born, my brother was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer… Steve had a rough road ahead of him and the prognosis wasn’t in his favor. Knowing what the family had to face was going to be a true test of unconditional, love, support, and faith… Leanna and the girls stuck by my brother, loved him and took care of him until his very last breath. Leanna and Steve were going to be married but time fell short and my brother lost his battle with cancer on March 25, 2024 (two years and two months after he was diagnosed). During those two years and two months, Leanna and the girls brought happiness to my brother and an abundance of love. My brother’s wishes were for Leanna and the girls to be able to live in the house that he built almost 30 years ago (just having to take over a reasonable mortgage payment) and to have the contents in the house and whatever was left in Bank accounts). Unfortunately., my brothers wishes for Leanna and the girls was not adhered to by the new owner …Not even three months had gone by and the sheriffs office served Leanna with an eviction notice giving her and the girls 30 days to vacate the premises. A home where she had been for over six years.. from a partnership to single mom, she could barely make ends meet, but she managed to do it… taking on extra hours at work so she could pay the mortgage, the electric, the car, the insurance, etc. Leanna even managed to mow the many acres of lawn and planted flowers (all the things my brother used to do). She took care of the house like it was her own . Now she hast to move within 30 days and has very few options to do so financially . Leanna and the girls are so deserving of all that’s great. I am starting this GoFundMe not only for them, but for my brother (who is heartbroken over this situation) his wishes were for them to be in his house , with the contents in the home and whatever money was left in the bank, but unfortunately, that did not happen. They have to start from scratch. It saddens me to think that someone could put my brothers family whom I also consider my family through this… Through one of the saddest times of their life) and so soon after my brothers passing is devastating and totally uncalled for. It would be greatly appreciated if you could donate whatever you are able… (a small token of love) goes a long way. In this great time of need it means so much and gives our family (Leanna, Ashley, Sophia and Kendall) a new beginning and New Hope for the future and time to heal which they so very much deserve.
