Our names are Lauren Dellsperger, Holly Pounds, and Karen Frederickson. We are ICU nurses that work with Dr. Neely who is the surgeon we will be working with through the CTVS group of central Texas. We are going on a medical trip to Kenya in October for 10 days with a team of people to help with Cardio thoracic surgery and help implement teaching on the safest practices to recover open heart surgeries. The team receives a grant to cover some costs but not all. This would be my second time in Africa for a medical mission, and Holly & Karen’s first time. It is the most rewarding experience to be blessed to do. To share knowledge and education in a third world country is incredibly humbling. We are so thankful to God to be given this opportunity to give back and show another part of the world how incredible medicine is in the United States. This fund is intended to help for international flights and cost while there. We are so excited to give back and to share this wonderful opportunity with the patients and medical community in Kenya!
