Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,
If you haven’t heard, Laura recently underwent a life-altering amputation and is now facing the challenge of adapting to her new reality as a right-below-the-knee amputee. As you know, Laura is a kind and compassionate individual with a positive spirit. To adapt, she requires significant modifications to her home to regain independence and navigate daily life comfortably and easily.
One of the most crucial areas needing immediate attention is our bathroom. Currently, it is not wheelchair accessible and poses significant safety risks and limitations for Laura. Simple tasks that most of us take for granted, like showering or using the toilet, have become major obstacles for her.
We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to raise money to help Laura renovate her bathroom to meet her specific needs and to help pay for medical bills that are part of this life change.
The essential modifications will include:
Installing a roll-in shower with a bench and grab bars: This will allow her to shower safely and independently.
Widening doorways: Ensuring easy access for her wheelchair.
Installing a comfort-height toilet with grab bars: Providing stability and ease of use.
Modifying the sink area: Creating space for the wheelchair and ensuring accessibility to the faucet.
Non-slip flooring: Enhancing safety and preventing falls.
No matter the size, every contribution will make a tangible difference in Laura's life. These renovations will not only improve her safety and accessibility but will also significantly boost her morale and allow her to regain a sense of normalcy and independence in her own home.
Please consider donating to help Laura on her journey to recover her independence. If you are unable to contribute financially, we understand (times are hard). Please do not forget to share this GoFundMe and, as always, pray. We have felt the prayers and good vibes that have been sent our way and really appreciate them so much!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity. Your support will empower Laura to live more comfortably and confidently.
Sincerely,
Michial Neal
