Help My Best Friend Get Her Daughter Off the Streets and Back on Her Feet

Hi, my name is Kierra, and I’m writing this because my best friend Lashae is going through something no mother should ever have to go through. And she’s way too proud to ask for help herself—so I’m doing it for her.

Lashae is currently homeless with her one-year-old daughter. They’ve been without stable housing since March. Right now, they’re sleeping wherever they can—mainly staying with a friend two hours away from Los Angeles, where Lashae’s entire life, routine, and her job opportunity is based.

Her car, the only thing she had left to help rebuild her life, was recently repossessed after she trusted someone to help with payments—and they let her down. Without that car, she can’t get to her job she secured in Los Angeles. She can’t move into the place she lined up. She can’t start over.

She’s trying so hard. She graduated as a Medical Assistant even while raising her baby. She passed her national certification. And this fall, she’s starting her associate’s in nursing. Her goal is to become a nurse practitioner—and I know she will. She’s not waiting for a handout. She’s already laid the foundation. She just needs a way to cross the bridge while she is in between blessings.

If you know Lashae, you know she’s got a spirit that doesn’t quit. She’s the kind of person who keeps pushing no matter what, but even the strongest people need help sometimes. And I’ve never seen her this low. She’s emotionally drained, trying to stay strong for her daughter—but she’s scared. She feels like she’s failing, and she’s not. She just needs a break.

She has a job lead at a hospital ready to go. She has a place to move into. She’s doing everything she can. She is staying with a friend two hours away from a job she secured in Los Angeles, she just needs to be able to get there and secure a deposit for a place for her and her daughter to move into.

If you’ve ever needed someone to believe in you, or had someone lift you up when you were barely holding on, then you know how much this matters. She’s not asking for luxury. She’s asking for a chance.

Please help if you can. Every dollar helps. Every share helps. Every ounce of support counts. Lashae just needs one push to make it out of this moment—and I know once she’s out, she’s not looking back.

Thank you so much for reading, caring, and helping my best friend, who’s a great mother, fight for her future.
