Support Larry's Journey to Beat Melanoma

Update 5/19 - This wonderful man passed away at 2:28pm on May 19th, 2024. There is significance to the time he passed at.....2:28 are the same numbers as his birthday.......February 28th. Larry's cancer journey came to end and we want the financials to be the least thing my Kay has to worry about. ❤️ If you could spare even a few dollars to help our family during this time, we would be forever grateful. Thank you in advance for your kindness. If you can't donate money, that is okay. We ask you keep our family especially Kay and Scott in your thoughts and prayers.

Larry is finally free of pain, flying high, and in heaven with his forever 21 daughter, Kati. He will truly be missed. See you at the beach! #CANCERSUCKS

------------------------------------
Larry was diagnosed with Melanoma in 2017. After many years of various immunotherapy treatments, and a metastatic diagnosis in 2021, he has been accepted by the Univeristy of Chicago Hospital to recieve their newly FDA approved treatment called TILS or Tumor-Infiltrating-Lymphocytes. We are hopeful this technology will be a game changer for Larry. With the innovative nature of this treatment, it is only being provided in Chicago, Illinois. This requires Larry and his wife, Karen, to travel 3 ½ hours multiple times a month to receive care.

Before 2017, Larry had been self-employed for a majority of his time in the roofing industry. After his diagnosis, he was advised to step down from the career he built to limit his exposure to the sun. Larry then shifted his trade to the commercial lighting industry where he continued to work until just recently, when his cancer could no longer allow it. Larry takes pride in his work ethic and craftsmenship, so “taking it easy” has been a challenge. Karen has been at Larry’s side throughout this entire process, and that has not changed despite the fact that treatment has taken him to Chicago. Although this has been an unforseen financial responsibility over the years, their recent increase in travel has caused Karen to take FMLA and limit her working hours in turn hindering their ability to sustain a healthy income. This is why we are reaching out to our community and beyond to help ease the financial burden so we can focus all our energy on our main priority- getting Larry the best care possible.

Please consider helping in this time of need with any monetary amount you are able.

We thank you in advance for your generosity, support, well wishes and prayers.
