Support Laotian Returnees: Rebuild Lives
Donation protected
Laotian Outreach Project, is a self funded grassroot nonprofit dedicated to supporting Laotian returnees, particularly those impacted by deportation, through advocacy, resource navigation, and direct community care.
Our mission is simple but urgent to help individuals who have been forcibly removed from the United States navigate the complex and often overlooked realities of reintegration. Many of these individuals were raised in the U.S., speak little of their native language, and face extreme barriers to housing, employment, healthcare, and even basic identity documentation upon return.
We provide culturally specific services that include:
• Assistance with obtaining stateless identification
• Guidance through bureaucratic processes in Laos
• Case coordination and family communication support
• Public education to shift narratives around deportation and Laos community.
Unlike larger organizations, we are completely self funded, relying on grassroots donations and our own labor to support this work. That makes sustainability an ongoing challenge, but one we’ve committed to because the need is real and growing.
We believe that policy change, public awareness, and reinvestment in impacted communities must go hand in hand. We would be honored to connect with you to explore ways to uplift the voices and needs of Lao returnees, many of whom have lived most of their lives in the U.S. and are being punished disproportionately for past convictions and systemic failures.
