Help Us Avoid Eviction : A Mama’s Urgent Call for Support
Hi, I’m Lainee—a mama, a hairdresser, and a woman who believes in the power of community, healing, and showing up for others with love and intention.
I never imagined I’d be writing this.
I’ve been holding on as long as I possibly can. For over a year, I’ve poured my heart into building my hair business, caring for my children, and trying to keep our home together. I’ve sought every resource I could find—from state programs to churches to local aid—and yet, we are now facing eviction with just days left to find a solution.
The truth is, the salon I’ve worked at has struggled with painfully slow foot-traffic, and the promise of a better location has been delayed again and again. It’s left me with no substantial, income, no way to save, and no financial cushion.
I don’t have the funds for rent.
I don’t have the funds for a storage unit.
And I don’t have family close who can take us in.
What I do have is faith.
Faith that community can rise in moments like these.
Faith that someone, somewhere, might see this and choose to help.
⸻
What We Need:
• $2,500 will cover back rent and a storage unit.
• Anything beyond that will be put toward rebuilding—new work opportunities, transportation, and a safe landing space for my kids and I to regroup and find stability.
⸻
I’m not giving up. I just need a little help getting through this moment. If you feel called to help—whether through a donation, a share, or a kind word—you are a part of something bigger than you know. You are helping a mother keep her children safe and hopeful.
With deepest gratitude and hope,
Lainee & Family
