My parents both grew up poor but worked hard in their chosen careers.

My mom, an inner-city guidance counselor, and my dad, a politician, radio talk show host, and CEO of a small family business, always believed in helping and giving back.

Cancer took away my parents but didn’t take away the legacy I carry on.

I’m a mom of two kids, I’m a huge believer in community, and I’ve been laid off twice.

I know the anxiety. I want to give back this holiday season to parents on LinkedIn and in the community who need presents for their kids and I want to give to those laid off as well — even a gift card for a few coffees.
