Support Lagressa in Her Time of Need

Let me introduce you to Lagressa Gomillia, a member of our Mars Wrigley family here in GNV. Lagressa is currently a Quality Control Coordinator in the Support Value Stream and has been with our family for the last 2 ½ years. Prior to Mars, she served in the US Air Force and held a plethora of roles for a variety of local manufacturing sites.

Over the last year, Lagressa’s mother (pictured here), following an extended illness, came to live with her. Lagressa has managed her sick time and vacation to cover her mother’s needs thus far. However, the extended unplanned care has forced her to apply for unpaid family medical leave. Expenses for her mothers care, were covered by Lagressa and her siblings. Sadly, as her mother’s dementia progresses, her need for care increases. In the last 4 months, the decision was made for her mother to move into memory care facility. Lagressa continues to cover extra expenses not covered by Medicare.

The increases of costs and decreased income due to unpaid family medical leave has impacted her ability to meet basic needs for her and her family, largest concern being her monthly rent. Lagressa has supplemented her income with DoorDash work and found it to help with some gas and food expenses. She’s been able to work with the property manager to extend her payment until June 12, 2024.

Lagressa could really use our help in providing for her family as she navigates through this tough time.
