Support La Michoacana Monarca and Its Workers During Closure

In the words of owner Sandra Rivera, La Michoacana Monarca is more than an ice cream shop to our St. Paul community. It’s a safe, welcoming space where families gather. We celebrate birthdays, graduations, college achievements, and everyday moments. It's also a place where students from nearby schools and universities come to do homework, spend time after school, and feel looked after.

Due to increased immigration enforcement activity in the area, the business made the difficult decision to temporarily close on January 11th to protect their customers and employees. This has created serious financial strain, and they need to provide support to employees unable to work while the shop is closed and cover essential expenses like rent so they can reopen and continue serving the community.

This wonderful ice cream shop has a special place in my heart, and I have set up this GoFundMe at the owner's request to help her and her very hard-working and dedicated employees during this very difficult time.

The funds will go directly toward meeting rent and living expenses for the staff, as well as toward rent and utilities for the shop. Any contribution, no matter the size, helps keep this important community space alive. Thank you for supporting and standing with La Michoacana Monarca. ❤️
