It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I must inform you all that after more than 20 years and over 1000 children served, we have received the news that the 2:30 PM bus run was discontinued on the 5th of September 2025.

The Department of Main Roads has indicated that while the bus is mechanically sound, it is simply too old, and the expenses required to keep it roadworthy will exceed the cost of acquiring a new bus. We have reached out to various organisations and applied for grants; however, we have not been successful.

The bus is a significant asset not only to Kutjala but also to our community. It has been utilized for funerals, sports events, and family gatherings.

Many of our older school siblings receive transportation to school when we pick up their younger siblings. I am appealing to the community to unite and support our young members by helping to secure a new bus for transportation.

Any assistance would be immensely appreciated.
