Kristi is facing one of the hardest moments of her life as her mom, Tana, battles for survival in the ICU. Tana has struggled with COPD and severe asthma for years, and every winter brings the risk of pneumonia. This year, her illness became much more serious, and she is now intubated and fighting for her life. Kristi, her daughter, is doing everything she can to be by her mom’s side, but the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming.

Kristi has not been at her job for a full year yet, so she does not qualify for paid time off or temporary unemployment. She can take the time off she needs to support her mom, but it means she will not have any income for the next few weeks. The bills are still coming in, and she needs help covering rent, gas to travel back and forth to the hospital, and other essential expenses. The stress of worrying about finances is making an already difficult situation even harder.
