Support Kristen's Kids After Her Passing

My name is Jennifer Ray, and I was fortunate to know and love Kristen Sumerlin. While I’ve known many members of her family my whole life, Kristen and I officially became family when I married her uncle, Todd.

Kristen passed away unexpectedly on March 17th, leaving behind five children—ages 19, almost 16, 13, 10, and 8—who loved her deeply and will feel her absence every day. She was a devoted mother, sister, daughter, aunt, niece, granddaughter, and friend. She had a huge heart, was an incredible cook, and worked tirelessly as a single mom to provide for her children and build a better future for them.

As we process this heartbreaking loss, we are also faced with the immediate financial burden of funeral expenses and the urgent needs of her children. While we are still figuring out what comes next, we know that ensuring the kids are cared for is our top priority.

We are asking for help from our village—family, friends, and kindhearted supporters—to provide some stability for Kristen’s children during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go toward funeral costs and will be split evenly among the children to cover their basic needs in the coming weeks and months.
