Hello! My name is Kristen. I'm a mom, a teacher, and a survivor. This past year, I have escaped an abusive marriage and worked to provide a healthier and happier life for my daughter and myself. Just when I thought things were getting better, I've now had the rug pulled out from under me. My health has taken a nosedive, and I'm now staring down the barrel of expensive treatments and tests to address a litany of issues as wellas a uterine cancer diagnosis.
In the coming weeks, I have to have several scans, blood infusions, and a total hysterectomy to hopefully right this ship and get me back in fighting shape.
I've been diagnosed with Lynch Syndrome, so in addition to dealing with the uterine cancer I'll be getting a colonoscopy to check if colorectal cancer is something else to deal with.
I'm having a biopsy done of the mass in my uterus next week to better plan my course of treatment post hysterectomy.
I'm already looking at around $5,000 of medical expenses just to get things started.
I'm scared and trying not to panic and to trust that something will work out. I feel like I've come so far so I'm trusting that I will get through this too.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.
