Knoxville Girls Rock Camp (KGRC) is a six-day camp for young women, transgender, and non-binary youth ages 9-17. We bring together campers from diverse communities, experiences, and perspectives to explore self-expression through music, build meaningful relationships with others, and effect positive change in their communities and in the world. Campers participate in instrument instruction, workshops, performances by visiting artists, and the formation of bands that will write a song together and perform at the public showcase August 1.
KGRC is a program of KnowHow, a community organization that works at the intersection of critical and creative thinking to support young people in leadership development and civic engagement. We are also a proud member of the international Girls Rock Camp Alliance and benefit from the support of more than 65 camps worldwide who have been operating successfully for many years and share resources, best practices, and evidence-based programming components.
Your donation to Knoxville Girls Rock Camp ensures we return on a solid foundation, supports the leadership of our young people who graduated from camp and now are coordinators, and lets young women, transgender, and nonbinary youth know their voices are important in our community.
We are an entirely volunteer and extremely DIY program, and every donation helps us bring camp to life. Your gift helps us offer full scholarships to campers who otherwise wouldn't have resources to participate, provides every camper with healthy meals and snacks, ensures we have enough equipment and instruments to let our campers fully rock, and provides supplies and materials needed for campers to express their full creativity through art-making, workshops, and skill-building activities at camp.
Thank you for your support! Any amount is appreciated.
