We all know Klaire as the one who takes care of all of us as a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. We go to her for advice, to bend her ear, to assist us with hard tasks. Despite how busy she is, no matter what it is Klaire is there selflessly without hesitation. Some of us have known her all our lives, for years or even a few months, but to know Klaire is to know she will always be there for you. Through the years we have watched her generous heart grow triple in size, becoming an incredible mom to the three most amazing and sweetest children. As a natural caregiver this role became second nature to her. Recently Klaire has given her babies the greatest gift a mom can give her children, a safe and loving home without anger and fear. She works hard and tries to find ways to be creative, to make more money to keep a roof over their head, full bellies and a warm cozy bed a night. Even when coupled she was still on her own financially, so she is used to hustling to pay the bills, buying food, school supplies, etc. However, she does struggle week to week to keep up with the day to day. The divorce has unfortunately come with a cost of great financial hardship. She is responsible for paying him for equitable distribution. In summation of the divorce, Klaire is obligated to pay him $20k up front with additional monthly payments for 5 years to settle the agreement. The deadline has come and gone to submit her upfront payment. She has exhausted all avenues of possible loans. Unfortunately, with continued court costs her debt has greatly increased causing denial in all loan requests. If Klaire is unable to fulfill her obligation of payment, she will be forced to sell her house and lose the only home her children have known. The children will not only lose their home, but the stability, safe space and solidarity in their education with all attending the same school. They have been through a lot of heartbreak, fear and inconsistency over the years, but this past year the children and Klaire are growing, healing and thriving.
