Help Support Kimber’s Ongoing Stroke Recovery
Update 10/22-
Kim has been staying at a board and care facility after her release from the hospital in August. Unfortunately, her health began deteriorating, and on October 13th, she was admitted to the ER and has since remained hospitalized. She has developed multiple infections, and we are currently waiting on test results to determine the cause and whether there may be a more serious underlying issue. This has been very difficult for my family. She remains paralyzed on her left side, incontinent, and not completely mentally aware.
We are once again asking for your support to help with Kim’s ongoing hospital and medical expenses. Any amount you can contribute is deeply appreciated and will go directly toward her care.
With Grattitude,
The Jacobs
Hello friends, family, and kind strangers —
Our mom, Kimber, suffered a severe stroke in late April, which caused a brain bleed. She was hospitalized for nearly two months, experiencing significant confusion, complete paralysis on her left side, and slurred speech.
After her hospital stay, she was transferred to a skilled nursing facility to begin the long process of rehabilitation — working to regain comprehension, mobility, and the ability to perform daily tasks. Unfortunately, insurance ended her coverage early, and she was sent home against medical advice after just one month.
She had only been home for a week when my 16-year-old brother, Steven, found her unresponsive and called an ambulance. She was admitted back to the hospital on June 25, where she is currently being treated for lithium toxicity. She remains severely impaired — unable to sit up, eat, or care for herself. It's now been over three months of hospitalization with no discharge plan in place, and we are still waiting on insurance approval for another rehabilitation facility.
Meanwhile, my dad has been working full-time, doing everything he can to support my brother and care for our mom, while juggling rent, medical bills, and daily life needs.
We’re asking for your help. Any donation — big or small — will go toward:
* Grocery and meal delivery for my dad and brother
* Laundry and basic living support
* Help with rent and overdue medical expenses
* Any care costs not covered by insurance
Your support means the world to us. Whether you're able to donate, share this campaign, or send good thoughts, we deeply appreciate it.
With gratitude,
The Jacobs
