My husband is unable to work these last 2 years due to a variety of medical conditions, including epilepsy. We have exhausted all of our savings, including liquidating his 401K at a considerable tax penalty. I am trying my hardest—working multiple jobs—but the bill totals are still beyond my income. I am behind on the mortgage, car payment, utilities, and college tuition for my daughter. We applied for social security disability, which took them 14 months to review and three days to reject, which is beyond disheartening. My husband provided for me and our children for over 20 years.
