Bringing Hope to Uganda: Providing Clean Water, Caring for Abandoned/orphaned Children, Healthcare & Education

Kidron Valley Ministries (KIVAM) is a small, faith-based organization in Jinja, Uganda, serving its community through a clinic, orphanage, school, and clean-water projects. Right now, they are operating with minimal resources and need support to continue caring for the people they serve.

Why They Need Help

KIVAM is short on funds every month to cover essential costs like food, including salaries for their teachers, caregivers, and clinic staff. They have a small farm that helps provide food and income, but even with that, they are still unable to cover their monthly expenses.

Their current needs include:

Orphanage: They’ve had to reduce the number of children they can care for due to a lack of funds. Many of the children have medical needs such as sickle cell anemia or frequent malaria infections. A newborn baby was recently brought to them after being abandoned at the hospital, and they need formula, diapers, and basic medical supplies.

Clinic: They struggle to keep essential medications/ medical supplies stocked. The clinic helps provide medical care for people in the community as well as the children in the orphanage.

School: In Uganda, school is not free. Families must pay school fees (about $50/month), and many cannot afford it. KIVAM often steps in to help children stay in school, providing a free education to those who cannot afford it.

Clean Water: They are also working to drill wells in their community, where many families still lack access to clean drinking water.
