Help us empower the next generation of Khmer-Krom leaders!
A group of Khmer-Krom youths will be heading to the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII ) next week!!!
A conference spanning over two weeks from April 21st through to May 2nd at the United Nations in New York City, the Permanent Forum brings hundreds of people indigenous communities, NGOs and states together to discuss issues affecting the indigenous peoples. Issues such as education, human rights, social and economic status and the right to be recognized as Indigenous peoples. A right that continues to be denied by Vietnam to this day.
Your support will help fuel this important work and advance the mission of the Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation (KKF), helping to bring awareness of the Khmer-Krom issues and help us advocate for the immediate release of sixteen Khmer-Krom human rights activists currently detained. Visit KKF Website for more information.
Last year, the Khmer-Krom youth did an exceptional job and were able to speak multiple times during the UNPFII session. They told the world how Vietnam is truly treating its the indigenous peoples. They also helped to organize and participate in a peaceful protest in front of the UN.
This year, there will be youths from California, Washington State, Philadelphia and New York City. Our youngest youth advocate is just 16 years old. They may be young but are mighty!
Your donation will help FUND a place to sleep and food to eat.
