Support Khalifa Todd's Journey to Recovery

My name is Majeedah Taufeeq, and I am raising funds for my son, Khalifa Todd, who suffered a devastating stroke in December of 2021. Khalifa was only 42 and 2 months shy of graduating from culinary school.

The stroke affected his brain and all corresponding cognitive motor skills. He has paralysis on the entire left side of his body.

I would love to share with you what an amazing person my son is. He is the youngest of my 3 sons. Growing up, his hobbies were sports and music (he loved music!!). He is a proud graduate of Shaker Heights High School. He owned his own cleaning business and is a loving father to 2 boys of his own.

Khalifa was always an active individual. He was such a big fan of the Cleveland Browns that, prior to his health crisis, I don't think he ever missed a tailgate party.

Khalifa suffered the catastrophic stroke while at home. A dear friend moved quickly after noticing the tell-tale signs. He was taken to a local hospital, where they saw brain hemorrhage, and he was therefore airlifted to Cleveland Clinic to undergo emergency brain surgery in order to save his life.

From Cleveland Clinic, he went to a step-down hospital. From the hospital, he entered his first long-term nursing home. This is where hardships grew greater. The treatment he received in the nursing home was so poor that it left him in a state of sepsis, along with bed sores. We had a back and forth with incompetent nursing homes that brought on more and more detriment. This persisted to where I had to personally take matters into my own hands.

Khalifa's life, and mine, took an unexpected turn that fateful day in December 2021. Ever since then, my life has been dedicated to being his caretaker.

Khalifa is currently at his 3rd nursing home, and it is just as horrific as the first two. I refuse to keep putting my son's life in the hands of these awful facilities.

My goal is to bring my son home with me, but the only way that can happen is if I can afford to move out of my apartment and into a ranch-style house that can accommodate him.

I have done extensive research on manufactured homes, and this route is the most efficient and affordable route to take in my special case.

I am hoping to raise funds to purchase land and the house itself.

I'm hoping that those who advocate for their loved ones, against the injustices of these improperly operated nursing homes, will help.

Any amount is greatly appreciated.

Please help me bring Khalifa home to me.
