Hey everyone, this a fundraiser for my friend Kevin. Kevin and I were co-leaders during Regis' annual "Quest in Kibera" service trip last year and we have stayed close friends since. Kevin is going to school to be a doctor and needs a few thousand dollars to make ends meet on the room and board side of things. He is genuinely one of the smartest and most hardest working people I know and it would be a shame if he couldn't achieve his dream because he didn't have enough money. But enough from me, here's a message from Kevin about his story:

"My name is Kevin Neondo, and I grew up in a family of five with my mother as our sole provider. Despite many struggles, she always emphasized the value of education and worked tirelessly to keep us in school.

My dream of becoming a doctor began when I was young, watching my mother work for a doctor and playing with his stethoscope. That dream became a mission the day my mother fell seriously ill. With no transport, we rushed her to the hospital in a wheelbarrow. The lack of compassion she received from the doctors left a lasting mark on me—I vowed to become a doctor who truly cares for his patients.

With the support of a well-wisher, I attended St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School, where I excelled in my studies and served as ICT prefect. I recently completed high school with strong results that earned me admission to Uzima University to study Medicine and Surgery.

Now, although I received a scholarship which covers my tuition, I still face the challenge of raising funds for room, board, and living expenses. My ultimate goal is to serve communities like mine by providing accessible, compassionate healthcare and, one day, establishing a clinic and school in Kibera, and I would greatly appreciate any help to get there.

While I cannot start a GoFundMe with my Kenyan bank account, my American friend Liam Bergerson, who I met during a Jesuit service project in 2024, has agreed to start the GoFundMe on my behalf and wire me the funds.
