On August 10, Kevin Chavez Sarmiento was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle by an impaired driver under the influence of drugs while working on a road construction crew One of their coworkers tragically lost his life, while Kevin and another worker were seriously injured.They were all members of Local 1298. I am reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for help for my stepson, who is currently in critical condition. Our family is going through one of the most difficult times we have ever faced, and we are doing everything we can to be by his side while he receives the care he needs.

As we focus on his recovery, he is also facing overwhelming expenses, and time away from work. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden so we can focus on what matters most supporting him and praying for his recovery. Due to the severity of their injuries and out of respect for his privacy, we are unable to disclose specific details regarding their medical conditions at this time.

El 10 de agosto, Kevin Chavez Sarmiento resultó gravemente herido tras ser atropellado por un auto conducido por una persona bajo los efectos de las drogas mientras trabajaba en una cuadrilla de construcción vial.
