<div>On August 10, Kevin Chavez Sarmiento was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle by an impaired driver under the influence of drugs while working on a road construction crew One of their coworkers tragically lost his life, while Kevin and another worker were seriously injured.They were all members of Local 1298. I am reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for help for my stepson, who is currently in critical condition. Our family is going through one of the most difficult times we have ever faced, and we are doing everything we can to be by his side while he receives the care he needs.

<div>El 10 de agosto, Kevin Chavez Sarmiento resultó gravemente herido tras ser atropellado por un auto conducido por una persona bajo los efectos de las drogas mientras trabajaba en una cuadrilla de construcción vial. Uno de sus compañeros de trabajo, falleció trágicamente, mientras que Kevin y otro trabajador resultaron gravemente heridos. Hoy, con el corazón apesadumbrado, les pido ayuda para mi hijastro, quien se encuentra en estado crítico. Nuestra familia está atravesando uno de los momentos más difíciles que jamás hayamos enfrentado, y estamos haciendo todo lo posible para estar a su lado mientras recibe la atención que necesita.
