Support Kevin Caterino's Stroke Recovery

Hello, my name is Jessica and I am Kevin Caterino's niece.

Kevin suffered from a massive stroke the first week of November, 2024, causing damage to the left side of his brain. His recovery process is expected to take many months and there are many aspects of his recovery that are unpredictable. This is why we ask for your help as his brother, Danny, Mother, Dayle and family navigate through the next steps of his recovery journey.

The stroke/bleed on the left side of his brain has caused right side paralysis. Kevin is unable to move his right side without assistance. It has also affected his ability to speak. Kevin has made major improvements over the last week, but the road ahead is a long one for him. Kevin is currently in a dedicated rehabilitation center working hard each day to regain his strength, relearning how to walk, speak, and do simple day-to-day tasks such as feeding himself. Kevin is supported and surrounded by the company and love of his two young daughters, Mom, brother and many family members and friends. Currently, Kevin is non-verbal, although he has muttered a few words recently, which is huge progress!! He can communicate by nodding yes or no, pointing/hand gestures and making facial expressions (and if you are lucky enough to know him, you know he has some funny and very expressive facial expressions.)

While Kevin does have insurance, the extended hospital/rehab stay along with possible home care and extensive therapies he will need could end up costing thousands above and beyond what insurance will cover. Like any 57 year old, he still has bills that need to be paid. Kevin worked so hard to achieve his goal of buying a home for his family and we don’t want to see him lose it. If it is a possibility that he will be able to go home, then our family would like to keep that option open for him.

I will be transferring your generous contributions directly to Kevin to supplement the out-of-pocket hospital/rehab costs and medical expenses as well as your typical everyday bills such as mortgage, utilities, insurance , etc. with your support , we can help alleviate some of this unexpected , financial burden for him.
