My name is Federico Navas, and I am the proud father of two exceptional students, Ashley and Kevin Navas. Kevin recently graduated from Zapata High School ranked 9th out of 270 students, with a GPA of 106.5, numerous academic awards, and over 500 hours of community service in our community, and he is beginning his freshman year at UTRGV to study Aerospace Engineering. Ashley is an amazing, academically gifted young woman in her third year at UTRGV, majoring in Music Education. She’s a member of UTRGV Horn Studio and was part of an Independent World Winds Group, competing in Dayton, Ohio in which they placed 3rd overall. She’s looking forward to be part of this year’s UTRGV Marching Band. She’s received plenty musical and academic awards, always striking to compete in anything she does and gives her all in what she knows best. Lastly, she has dedicated more than 300 community service hours to her community, and plenty more at UTRGV.

This semester, Kevin still needs $3,000 and Ashley needs $5,000 to cover their tuition, and as a family we do not have the resources to meet these costs. We are unable to afford their tuitions at the moment due to unexpected removals by the government and I am asking for your generosity to help my children continue their education and pursue the futures they have worked so hard for. They enter this month on August 27th, and it is a short amount of time to pay for the expenses. Any type of contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and mean the world to us.
