Help Me Grow a Vegetable Garden!

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters.

I’m Ken, I have Multiple Sclerosis, disabled and collect SSDI as my only income. I am reaching out to you with a green dream this summer! With times being tight, I aim to create a thriving vegetable garden that will not only nourish my wife who has serve Chrone's disease and special dietary needs, but also serve my community. This garden is about more than just growing plants; it’s about fostering connections, promoting sustainable living, and bringing fresh, healthy produce to those who need it most.

A couple of years ago, I grew vegetables that I donated to people who stopped by my little vegetable stand, shared with neighbors, and gave to the Toledo Fire and Rescue Station 6—a team that once came to our aid. My wife and I will always be grateful to them.

This garden is a chance to pay it forward and contribute to building a more self-reliant, caring, and food-secure community.

What I Need

To make this dream a reality, I’m asking for your help. The funds raised will go directly toward essential supplies to bring this garden to life. My goal is to raise $5,000 which will cover:

Vegetable plants and seeds (tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, lettuce, etc.)

Nutrient-rich soil, fertilizer, and compost

Materials for raised garden beds and trellises

Materials for a new vegetable stand

$3,450: Basic tools, tool shed, and maintenance
