My dad, Kenneth Fish, has spent his entire life taking care of everyone else before himself. Now it’s time we take care of him.
Three years ago, doctors told him that his vascular disease had reached a point where his artificial arteries wouldn’t last more than two years. They didn’t give him much hope. But somehow, he’s still here, still fighting, still showing up, and still proving everyone wrong one day at a time.
Then, as if that wasn’t enough, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. And just like every other challenge he’s faced, by the grace of god beat it.
But surviving all of this comes with a cost. The pain, the doctor visits, and the constant expenses have taken their toll. He has never once asked for help, but I know in my heart he deserves it more than anyone.
My dad is a stone mason, one of the best of his time. His hands built creations one could only dream to have in their home, his work built communities, and his dedication built a family that loves him more than words can describe. He spent decades working long, hard days in the sun and cold so his kids and family could have a better life.
He still drives the same old Dodge truck he’s had for over twenty years. He never complains and never asks for anything, always grateful for what he has. But I want to change that. I want to give him something back, not just a truck, but peace of mind and comfort after everything he’s given to everyone else.
The truth is, he has no idea I’m doing this. He would never ask for help, that’s just not who he is. But this is my way of saying, “You’ve done enough, Dad. Let us take care of you now.”
Every donation will go toward easing his medical costs, improving his daily comfort, and if we’re lucky, helping replace that old truck that’s carried him through a lifetime of hard work.
Every dollar, every share, and every kind word means more than you can imagine. Thank you for helping me show my dad how much he’s loved, and for reminding him that his strength, sacrifice, and love will never be forgotten.
