Hi, to whoever sees this post! My name is Kendra and I’m a CTICU RN. At the end of this month, I will be traveling to Nigeria with a foundation named VOOM. The VOOM Foundation is a terrific organization that is at the forefront of performing open-heart surgery in Nigeria. They also provide educational and training opportunities to healthcare workers and indigenous people of Nigeria.

In order to volunteer with the foundation, all I had to cover were the flights and vaccines. The foundation covers the rest. I thought, oh, that won’t be much... my vaccines alone totaled up to $1117 and my flights $1713. I definitely feel uncomfortable asking for donations, but I can’t hide that I certainly need help to help others!
