Help Build a Safe & Accessible Home for Kendall
Kendall Harvey is courageously battling Friedreich’s Ataxia, a rare and progressive disorder that makes even simple daily tasks incredibly difficult. Recently, her husband Kyle reached out to me for advice on updating their bathroom vanity so Kendall could use it more easily. He never asked for anything more — but as I stood there looking over their situation, I felt God tugging on my heart. It was clear this family needed more help than a vanity alone could provide.
Many of you may remember the earlier GoFundMe, which allowed the Harveys to purchase and outfit an ADA-accessible vehicle. That was an absolute blessing and has given Kendall so much more freedom to get out into the community and live with dignity. Today, we have the opportunity to finish what was started by addressing the final area of need: making their home itself safe and fully accessible.
With my background in construction, I’m personally building custom vanities for Kendall, and thanks to the generosity of Hart & Stone, the vanity tops are being donated. But the Harvey family’s needs go beyond that. Their flooring must be replaced, and most importantly, Kendall needs a walk-in tub. After long, exhausting days, she deserves the dignity of a safe, comfortable place to relax and care for herself.
As part of the Regents School of Austin community, I’ve seen firsthand how we rally together in times of need. This is one of those moments. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to finish these critical updates and make their home fully functional for Kendall’s needs.
Kendall is a beautiful soul whose strength inspires all who know her. Together, as a community, we can give her the gift of comfort, safety, and independence. Any help you can give will be a blessing to the Harvey family.
