Support Kelsey Owen, NYC nurse in getting to work

Kelsey has been my friend for a long time. Everyone knows us as Kelso and Carol. She is silly, and weird. She is funny, and smart. She is resilient and she is strong.
Kelsey is a New York City Infectious Disease nurse, working on a 100% Covid-19 Floor. She pursued a career in taking care of others because she is a compassion, warm and loving woman. She loves her fellow nurses, the doctors, and the patients.
As Kelsey has shared, its not easy to go to the hospital, go to work, every day and be at the frontline fighting this virus. She is scared, she is sad, and sometimes she worries that she wont be able to do it forever.
Nevertheless, Kelsey wakes up at the crack of dawn (I know because I hear the coffee machine working overtime) to go in for her shift. Normally, Kelsey would walk to the subway station by our house, then transfer after a few stops and ride all the way up to the Upper West Side. That's when she would start her day. After her 12 hour shift, and another hour of filing her paperwork she would do the same trek home.
These days, the subway isn't safe. Its not clean. Its filled with the homeless population and drug use. Kelsey doesn't feel safe riding the subway alone at those early/late hours for her shift.
Kelsey has been taking UberPools to and from work to try and avoid the subway issue. It also gets her home much quicker to decompress from the day. Her round trip each day costs between $60-70. While I am trying to think of a better long-term solution for her transportation problem, I'm hoping that we can all chip in a little (anything would be appreciated) to help Kelsey get to and from work for the next few weeks.
Stay safe, wear a mask, and wash your hands!
Thank you,
Carol
