Support Kelly and Siblings After Tragic Loss

This past Monday, my niece, Kelly, my nephew, Joshua, and their little brother, Jaxon, had their world turned upside down when they suddenly lost their mother. At just 21 years old, Kelly is now stepping into the role of caregiver and sole provider for her 4-year-old brother, Jaxon, while navigating the overwhelming grief of losing her mom. Tragically, Jaxon’s father passed away before he was even born, so he has now lost both of his parents at such a young age.

Since she was a little girl, Kelly has worked tirelessly to build a future for herself. She is currently an aide at Barry Elementary, where she works in the before and after care program, helping young children every day. Kelly is also diligently working toward earning her teaching credential. Despite the obstacles she’s faced, Kelly has always been determined to build a better life for herself. But now, she finds herself carrying a burden no one should have to face alone—becoming a single parent to 4-year-old Jaxon, managing memorial arrangements for their mother, and coping with a loss that has shaken them to their core.

Joshua, too, is struggling with grief and uncertainty, as he is displaced until he can figure out where he’ll stay. The family needs support as they try to rebuild their lives during this incredibly difficult time.

We’re starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial strain on Kelly and her siblings as they navigate this transition. The funds will be used for:

Jaxon’s immediate needs (food, clothing, supplies, and other essentials to help him adjust)

Funeral and memorial expenses for their mother

Temporary living arrangements for Joshua while he figures out his next steps

Therapy and grief counseling for Kelly, Joshua, and Jaxon as they cope with this tragic loss
