Keeyonie Planter, or "KeeKee" as everyone knows her, is a young woman with a heart of gold. When I first met KeeKee years ago, I immediately noticed her manners and thoughtfulness, but it was her kindness and caring for others that most impressed me. The only times KeeKee has ever asked for anything, it has been to help others, not herself. For Christmas in 2019, then 13-year-old KeeKee had a wish list not for expensive toys or a new iPhone like most teenagers, but instead she asked for pajamas to donate to children in the hospital. With community support, her fundraiser was very successful and a large donation of children's pajamas was made, all thanks to KeeKee!
On April 7, 2025, KeeKee lost her best friend and mother, Kissy, who fought the good fight, but finally lost her long battle with sickle cell anemia. In the wake of this terrible loss, KeeKee will need financial help during the upcoming months to cover expenses. In addition to household bills, this is KeeKee's senior year of high school and she has been accepted to attend college in the fall, so there are many expenses to be covered for that as well.
Please consider showing your support for KeeKee during this difficult time. As someone who has rallied the community to help others, we now need to rally around her in her time of need.
