Dear friends, family, and compassionate hearts,

It is with deep sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved friend and neighbor, Melanie. On the evening of July 19th, 2025, after an incredibly courageous five-year battle with cancer and muscular dystrophy, Melanie left this world — leaving behind her devoted husband Joseph and their precious 12-year-old daughter, Kaylee.

Melanie was the embodiment of strength, warmth, and love. She faced every challenge with grace and unwavering hope. Her husband, Joseph, stood by her side every step of the way — through countless hospital visits, sleepless nights, and moments filled with both fear and faith, always doing everything in his power to bring her safely back home to Kaylee.

Sadly, despite their hopes, the day Kaylee feared the most has come. Her world has changed forever. She believed, with a child's pure heart, that her mother would return. That hope has been shattered.

Joseph and Kaylee are navigating unimaginable grief. While they are showing incredible strength, Kaylee’s future — her education, her emotional healing, her sense of stability: now depends on the love and generosity of those around them.
