Hey everyone I am the grandfather of 11mt old Kayden Bell known to him as G-Paw.. Kayden was born a healthy beautiful baby. He has grown into a rambunctious toddler full of life and laughter and smart as they come. At about 7mts Kayden had a fall and hit his forehead and nose which landed him in the emergency room. The dr examined him said he was all good and sent him on his way with mom. But to do a follow up with regular Dr for check up. Which led to a ent Dr for his nose. While at the ent the dr asked my daughter about any concerns and she said he had a noticeable ridge on his forehead. So time passes and my daughter gets a call from Wk south for a visit with a maxofacial dr. He said the ridge wasn't alarming him but his soft spot was the size of pea. So he ordered a ct scan. After the ct scan we got the news that Kayden ct scan showed his front suture was fused completely along with the back one fused halfway. The dr explained that Kayden must undergo a major surgery to repair to allow his brain to grow outward and not into a football shape. He explained that he will go in and make a cut in his scalp from ear to ear and pull his skin forward an backwards to remove the front portion of Kaydens skull. He then will remove the bone that is above his eye sockets to be able to put dissolvable plates in that portion of bone along with the front portion of his skull. He then will drill four holes into the back part of the skull where its fused and cut out a section there also and plate it to allow Kaydens brain to grow outward. Without this surgery he said as he ages his head will grow longer and he will have learning disabilities and speech problems and can cause possible blindness from the pressure inside of his head also seizures.. I know this is a long post but wanted to give a insight on what Kayden has ahead of him. He said there will be lots of swelling a several day stay in the hospital. But after this the prognosis is very good and he will be a healthy happy baby. His mom and dad will be off work at that time to take care of him and also to future appointments. No way we are asking for any handouts because its so close to the holidays but if you find it in your heart to donate to them would be a blessing to them and our sweet sweet Kayden. And if you can't a silent prayer or put on your prayer list at church.. We know God has him and this was all part of his plan as bad as his little fall was this is what led to the discovery of all this. Again we thank each of you for prayers for Our sweet Kayden Bug....
