My name is Katy Phillips. I am 45 years old and I am a domestic violence survivor. Three years ago, I was lured by my own brother to his house where I was ambushed by my ex and his new girlfriend. For over 13 hours, I was brutally beaten and tortured and robbed of everything I had left in this world, including my car. I have been struggling to get back on my feet ever since. It has been a nightmare trying to find and maintain a job while suffering from PTSD. One of my biggest triggers is being around people I do not know, especially in public places. Having to use public transport has also been hard for this very reason.
