Hi, my name is Katy Kline, and I am a Life scout in Troop 172G in Warrington, Pennsylvania. I have been a part of scouting for 5 years. Scouting has taught me the value of leadership, responsibility, and service by giving me opportunities to challenge myself and support others. It has shaped me into a more confident, resilient, and community-minded individual, ready to face new experiences with integrity and purpose.

I am currently working on my Eagle Scout project with the Churchville Nature Center, building a sensory board and a balance beam in their natural playground. The Churchville Nature Center is a non-profit environmental education center with trails, gardens, animal exhibits, educational opportunities for young and old, and a natural playground. This project will benefit the numerous visitors at the Churchville Nature Center. Creating a sensory board at the nature center will provide a hands-on, interactive experience that engages multiple senses, making nature more accessible and enjoyable for all visitors. The board will also promote inclusive learning by allowing children and adults of all abilities to connect with the natural world in meaningful and engaging ways. The addition of a balance beam will encourage physical activity and help children develop coordination, balance, and core strength through playful movement.

Funds raised will be used to purchase needed materials and supplies, including sensory items and lumber. Fundraising is one of the first steps in my trail towards Eagle, and I am looking for your support as I complete this addition to Churchville’s Natural Playground! Any money donated that is not used for my efforts, will be presented to the Churchville Nature Center to support their work in our community. Thank you for your support!
