Support Katie's Healing Journey Together

Hi,

This is Caitlin and Jenna, and we are asking for your help to support our boss Katie as she undergoes surgery and treatment for a tumor (an ependymoma) in her spine. This rare type of tumor needs to be removed ASAP and the recovery time is at least 3 months.

Katie is a hairstylist and small business owner here in Hilton, NY, and this business helps provide for her family. Being a salon owner and provider for her husband and 3 children, this news was devastating to hear! Katie’s worst fear, the possibility of having to close her doors to her business, is very real, and we want to do everything we can to make sure that does not happen.

We are asking for donations to ensure that while she is recovering from this major surgery, we can keep her salon doors open and she can continue to provide for her family.

Katie is one of the most selfless people you will ever meet. If anyone deserves the help and support from her friends, employees, and community, it is Katie.

Her surgery is scheduled for October 2nd, and we are hoping this GoFundMe can alleviate some stress in preparation for this.

Doctors have done 5 MRIs in prep for this and discovered that even more rare, this tumor is not just on her spine but is inside her spine. This means this surgery is going to be intense and extremely important so that Katie can continue to do what she loves as a hairstylist.
