Support Kathy Ridzy in Her Time of Need

Hello, My Name is Brian "Crash" Ridzy. I am trying to raise money for my terminally ill mother Kathy Ridzy. My mom has been married to the love of her life for over thirty-five years. They have always done for others before doing for themselves. My parents are loving parents and grandparents who have raised their granddaughter for a very early age. They have faced many struggles and made many sacrifices over the years, but they have always managed to keep their head held up high and conquer them. Unfortunately, recently they have been faced with one that they will not have the same luck.

This past October my mom Kathy went to the doctor for stomach pain. After testing they diagnosed her with stage IV Pancreatic and liver cancer. It was a shock to everyone. They are proud people, and didn't want anyone to know or pity them. My mom started chemotherapy at the Cleveland Clinic in November. The staff and doctors at the clinic have been wonderful and have shown heartfelt compassion to her and our family. After a couple months of treatment my mom developed leg pain. We took her to the hospital, and they ran some tests. As soon as the tests results came in the immediately admitted her to the hospital. Large blood clots in her entire leg and her lung were found. Unfortunately, after a week of being in the hospital and in severe pain they ran more tests and scans. The results showed that the cancer is extremely aggressive and rapidly growing. The chemo was not working to slow things down.

The odds were against my mom. She had to make a hard and sad decision. She decided not to pursue further treatments. Her body could not endure any more. She decided along with her medical team that hospice would be the best option for her. This allows for a better quality of life in the time that remains for her. Her wish is for her remaining time to be surrounded by family and loved ones.

My beautiful and loving mom is now in at home hospice. We as a family are doing all we can for her. Unfortunately, we can only do so much. Medical bills and the cost of living is piling up and adding more stress onto her and her husband. Our family is reaching out trying to raise as much money to relieve some of the burden on them. While going through this difficult time and still raising their granddaughter to the best of their abilities it has been hard for them to stay ahead of the financial game.
